Overview
Few cities in the world have experienced as much change over the past 20 years as Mongolia's capital, Ulaan Baatar. Home to more than half of the nation's population and consistently growing, Ulaan Baatar has shrugged off the Communist era, evolving a thriving youth culture (with a huge K-Pop music fan-base), and some fabulous dining experiences.
The rich history of Mongolia is being exploited with archaeological museums, traditional theatres and monasteries, forming an extraordinary blend of the old, new, and the completely unpredictable. Ulaan Baatar has plenty to offer - whether it be passing by Beijing or visiting for a yurt on the steppes.

Climate
Ulaan Baatar is a very cold winter destination, so summer is really the optimal time to go. July and August bring the exciting Naadam Festival, with its music and sports events, whereas, late May and June, along with September and October are engaging times as well, with mild temperatures and the steppes at their lushest.
