1. Mount Bisoke - The Natural Wonder
About three hours from Kigali is the famous Mount Bisoke, also renowned as Mount Visoke, in the Virunga Mountains. The mountain stands at a 3,711 meters high and is a challenging trek, but the main attraction is the striking crater lake at the top, which is the largest in the region.

Travelling 2 hours east of the city, you’ll reach Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s premier safari destination. The park is very eye-catchy and peaceful. Earlier, it got started as a conservation project, rather than for tourism. But now has become one of the most-visited parks in Kigali.

3. Cultural Site
Save some time and get a good insight into the Kigali scene - take in the arts or get involved in one of the many activities offered at the Inema Arts Centre. There are various artworks on display from some of Rwanda’s brightest talents and you can see the artists at work in the studio.

4. Off the Beaten Path
Do you need a new adventure or thrill in your life? Why not climb Mount Kigali, not Mount Everest; it is a little doable! Commencing from the Nyamirambo neighbourhood, it’s relatively a gentle incline and there you will come across breathtaking city views. Once you reach the top of the mountain, you’ll encounter a pretty wooded area where you can stop and have a celebratory beer along with some tasty food at Mera Neza bar.

5. Night Life
Kigali is a very up-and-coming city with a great selection of restaurants and bars. For a good night out, perhaps start your evening with sunset drinks at Choma’D, a hip and trendy bar with pretty views, or Pili Pili Boutique Hotel, before heading to Nyamirambo for which is famous for giving a memorable evening to even most discerning visitors.
