Distance to the City Centre
The city centre is at a very short centre from the Chiang Mai Airport and tuk-tuks are available to make your commute easier. An approximate of 160 baht will be charged for the travel from the airport to the terminal building.
Transport from Chiang Mai
Standing at a distance of 3 miles from the city centre, trains arrive at Chaing Mai Railway Station. The ticket fare from Bangkok to Chiang Mai is starting from 1000 baht and ranges to 3000 baht. A taxi or a bus that will take you to your final destination will charge less than 100 baht. A wide range of rental cars are available and the good transportation system helps the tourists with the best possible commute. If you’re coming from Bangkok to Chiang Mai then your best bet is a bus (however, is not that comfortable). The fare for a bus is around 500-600 baht.
Visa Requirements for Chiang Mai
For visa apply at Thai Embassy for METV and this applies to all the nationalities. The fee for the same is $200 and the validity of the visa is 6 months and the duration of the stay is upto 60 days per visit.
