Cheap Flights to alice springs

Overview
Most of the backpackers flying to Alice Springs have just one thing on their minds – Uluru. The monolith of enormous, cultural, importance to the local Anangu people, is 275 miles south-west of Alice Springs, but if you do whizz in and out of the airport at Alice, you are missing a town with a breathtaking setting, fascinating history and loads of culture.
The town is nestled among the MacDonnell Ranges. To the Alice’s west, you can encounter Standley Chasm, Simpson’s Gap, and the Finke Gorge National Park. And, when you start exploring the east, you come across Trephina Gorge Nature Park, Emily Gap, Ruby Gap Nature Park, Arltunga Historic Reserve and N’Dhala Gorge. Alice is a town of wide buzzing streets having a shed of eucalyptus trees. It has a strong artistic and cultural tradition that resembles its natural beauty.

Climate
As you would expect, this continental desert is dry, hot which equals to torrid summers (December to February), cool winters (June to August) and rainfall sporadically. Summer temperatures range amidst the 85-115 degrees F, while winter temperatures can hover amid 45-50 degrees F during the day. Night-time temperatures can fall below 32 degrees F.

Alice Springs Attractions and Activities
1. Myth busting at Alice Springs Desert Park
Bust the myth that the desert is the "dead" heart of Australia at the Desert Park on the outskirts of Alice Springs. This stunning park – part botanic garden, part wildlife sanctuary – is an amalgamation of nicely re-formed desert habitats and is bursting with life.

2. Touch the Skies in a Hot Air Balloon
Get a bird's-eye view of the desert on a hot air balloon flight. Flights take off before dawn, but once you're up this is a magical way to watch the sun rise over the vast spinifex-studded desert plains that surround Alice Springs. From the air, the landscape looks just like the dot paintings hanging in the art galleries in town. Choose from a half hour and one-hour flights.

3. Meet Kangaroo Dundee
A baby kangaroo is called a joey, and it's almost impossible not to fall in love at first sight with the adorable orphaned joeys being cared for by Chris Barnes (better known as "Brolga", star of the hit television series, Kangaroo Dundee).

4. Admire the Desert Art Trail
Learn about Aboriginal art by visiting the art galleries of Alice Springs. Start at the Araluen Arts Centre on the edge of town. It has several galleries of Central Australian Aboriginal art as well as one of the country's largest collection of works by the renowned Albert Namatjira.

5. Discover Ancient Rock Art at Emily Gap
The area around Alice Springs is associated with the Caterpillar Dreaming (Yeperenye) creation story that tells how the MacDonnell Ranges were formed by great mounds of caterpillars, killed in a battle with their enemies, the stink bugs.
