Lanzarote is the island that belongs to the Canary Islands. It is located on the east of the archipelago and the north of Fuerteventura. Also famed as “the island of fire-spitting mountains”, you can encounter approximately three hundred of volcanoes on the Lanzarote island. The main attraction is Cueva de Los Verdes Cave that is situated on the north of the island under the lava masses of the Corona volcano. This cave is the largest in the world – its length estimates 6 kilometres and some halls of the cave are 24 meters wide and 15 meters tall.

Best Time To Visit
The best time to visit the Lanzarote is from April until October. The mountainous islands to the west, La Palma, El Hierro, La Gomera, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, are best visited in spring, summer and autumn. The winter months are some of the best months to go, especially if you’re desperate to escape to the cold climates at home.

Visa Requirements for Lanzarote
The European Commission has proposed that in a no-deal situation if you are a British Citizen, you would not need a visa for short stays in the Schengen area or elsewhere in the EU. You would be able to stay for up to 90 days in any 180 days. Make sure your passport is valid for the proposed duration of your stay.

  • Driving a car to explore the city is quite convenient - they are strict with traffic rules so it is safe as well.
  • Make use of the Phone booths to call your close ones anywhere in the world - coins as well special plastic cards all are accepted here.
  • Locals are very helpful so if you ask they might help you get to your place of interest.
  • It is always useful to carry some cash when heading towards local markets or restaurants as they do not accept cards but cash.
  • When going for a normal walk, avoid wearing jewellery, carrying important documents or excess cash.
